NCCER Named DEWALT Grow the Trades Grant Recipient

The National Center for Construction Education and Research is a DEWALT Grow the Trades Grant recipient for its efforts to provide career and technical education programs and industry-recognized credentials to students through the High School Builder Program. With an estimated 500,000 open construction jobs unfilled, DEWALT’s Grow the Trades Grants aim to help close the skilled labor gap by supporting nonprofit organizations that are skilling, reskilling and upskilling tradespeople. Construction Employment Increases In 39 States Between August 2023 And August 2024

Construction employment increased in 39 states in August from a year earlier, while 27 states and the District of Columbia added construction jobs between July and August, according to a new analysis of federal employment data released by the Associated General Contractors of America. Association officials said that tight labor market conditions are making it hard for firms to find enough workers to hire. Adolfson & Peterson Construction Awarded Austin Independent School District Projects

Adolfson & Peterson Construction was recently awarded the construction and renovation contract for Austin Independent School District’s Anderson and McCallum High Schools. Anderson High School, in Northwest Austin, Texas, was built in 1970. The renovation includes a 43,350-square-foot competition gym with an 1,800-seat capacity and locker rooms with coaches’ offices, training rooms, officials’ dressing rooms and laundry. Common spaces will feature a Hall of Honor and trophy cases, while the entry vestibule and front office will be reconfigured for security.
